WorkshopsFirmly established as one of the leading performers on the British acoustic blues circuit, Jim has also been in demand as a guitar tutor. With twenty years teaching experience he regularly teaches on a one to one basis, runs festival workshops and for five years taught as a full time tutor at North Devon College.Jim will be hosting one and two day workshops in his home village of Appledore on the beautiful North Devon coast throughout the year. Classes in fingerstyles and slide playing, incorporating standard and open tunings, can be on a one to one basis or in groups of up to six students. A typical itinerary for a days tuition might consist of: 2 hour tutorial from 10am to 12 noon 2 hour lunch break 2 hour tutorial 2pm to 4 pm For larger groups there would then be an hour period for one to one tuition. Written material in tab. form will be provided for all lessons. I would also recommend use of tape or minidisc recorders etc. to aid recollection of the tutorial. Tea and coffee will be provided. Appledore is a charming fishing village and has a wealth of pubs and restaurants in which to have breakfast, lunch, dinner and of course fine ales! There are also a variety of accommodation options, please ask for details when booking your workshop. Workshop prices are: £70 per person per day for a group workshop £90 per person per day for a one to one workshop |
